All Things Nerdy
Anime, Gaming, DnD - you name it, I am probably into it. You will notice a lot of anime and gaming influences around my office. It has taken me a while to do away with the shame of the things I like and I am very excited to integrate them into my practice!
My Christian Faith
My worldview is viewed through the lens of my Christian faith - that we are all sinners born into a sinful and broken world and only through the saving power of Christ can we be redeemed.
I believe psychology and my faith go hand-in-hand as my hope is that everyone can become the best version of themselves and I aspire to help them achieve that.
That being said, I understand that some people are not looking for faith-based counseling, and that's okay! Just know that it is a core part of who I am and how I view the world and psychology.
My Love of Psychology
Ever since my first Gen Psych course, I have been fascinated with the world of Psychology and the workings of the mind. As I continued my education journey, I came to appreciate different facets of different theories. While my main theory is Gestalt, I also incorporated some Jungian concepts - especially during Geek Therapy.
Who Am I?
I am Alfred Tabaks, M.A., LPC. I have been practicing since 2019 and have experienced a wide variety mental health facilities and practices.
I am a suicide survivor and continue to live with depression and anxiety.
My goal is to help others so that they have a way to come out on the other side of their struggles and learn to deal with their mental health much like I did.
